It is part of the Dehradun Forest Division. This zoological park is one of the main attractions in Dehradun after Rajaji National Park. Set amid the ethereal Shivalik range of Doon Valley, this place is a great getaway for all photography and nature lovers.
The location is gleaming with breathtaking views, making it even more appealing. It is home to some of the most beautiful wildlife, birds, and deer. Some popular species you can spot in Malsi Deer Park are the Sambar deer, Nilgai deer, two-horned deer, exotic animals and birds, the peacock, rabbits, crocodiles, and tiger, lion, snakes, owl, and dozens of birds.
Gorgeous green trees surround the beautiful, tiled pathway with cartoon figures and statues of branches and twigs. You can spot a few popular cartoon characters such as Mowgli, Baloo- the bear, Bagheera, Sher Khan, Raju, Chutki, and Chota Bheem.
The park has a refreshment area where you can grab a bite and have your kids enjoy the play area, complete with slides, a see-saw, and swings.
Best Time To Visit Malsi Deer Park
The park is open for tourists all year round. The temperature ranges anywhere between 34-degree Celsius to 12-degree Celsius. The best time to visit Dehradun is from March to June when the weather is pleasant, and you can see the animals out in their open space, strolling and monkeying around.
Monsoons will light you up as the entire valley brims with freshness and sparkling greenery. The exquisite flora and fauna will soothe your eyes and senses, making your visit worth the while. While it may not be the ideal time to visit the zoo, you may want to experience just a glimpse of the mountain rain at least once.
