About Sahastradhara Dehradun

Sahastradhara is around 15 km from Dehradun's main city. It is close to the Baldi River, near Robber's Cave. The name 'thousand-fold spring' represents how impressive the waterfalls are at this place. It is as good as seeing a thousand waterfalls descending from the top with several small ones along the way. The limestone stalactites of these waterfalls make them rich in sulphur, which has healing benefits and is known to cure skin ailments.

Dehradun is known for its cool climate throughout the year. With gorgeous landscapes surrounding it, and the beautiful mountain view right up to Mussoorie is a sight for sore eyes. Sahastradhara is no different.

#Trivia: The best way to enjoy Sahastradhara is to travel by the ropeway that offers a panoramic view of the entire city. The beautiful steppe farms and the cool breeze are breathtaking and soothe your mind.

The Himalayan vegetation and the tranquillity you get from the waterfalls make you feel out of this world.

The waterfalls here descend at the height of around 9 metres. The sedimentary accumulation of lime and sulphur makes us spot the elements of the caves.

#Trivia: It is a common belief among the local folk that drinking this sulphur water can cure many stomach diseases too.
