About Daat Kali Temple

Daat Kali Temple is a revered Hindu temple located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It is one of the oldest and most prominent temples in the region dedicated to Goddess Kali, which is considered a manifestation of the divine feminine energy in Hinduism.

Hindus accord the Daat Kali Temple unwavering religious value; even today, those who purchase a new automobile bring it to the temple to seek the devi's blessings. A priest performs a special pooja, during which a black thread is attached to the car, and coconuts are offered. The Vahan Durghatna Yantra is an instrument that is affixed to the car to shield it from accidents, the evil eye, and other perils.

#Trivia: The word "Daat" means "teeth" in Hindi, and the temple is named after the goddess's fierce form with protruding teeth.
